Yeah, if you go for it, you can save money with an electric car. But you have to be extremely vigilant and not just take what's offered. Of course there are also disadvantages that simply cannot be configured away, such as the range and charging speed. The Citigo is a very suitable example.

On this car you can also prove that an electric car is cheaper to operate. If we leave out the current zero tariffs when charging because of their finiteness and charge at home, then the Citigo consumes approx. 15 kW/100km at 0.3 € per kWh. That adds to 4.5 € and as a vehicle with combustion engine 5L/100km at 1.35 €/litre to 6.75 €. The figures are so clear that even small changes to the basic trend do not change anything.

Traditionally, Škoda has been considered a brand that is cheaper than VW, but which quality comes dangerously close to VW. In the case of the Citigo, this is true compared to the up! but not the Seat Mii, which is still 300 € cheaper in the basic price. However, Seat charges a total of €1,080 more for the only two (!) extras we would choose, namely the CCS charging socket and the seat heating. At Škoda, this is only 320 € and 250 € more.

The basic price is therefore 'only' 21.290 €. We have configured the car in yellow colour, we leave you the choice for another colour, but as a precaution we would like to point out an additional 180 € to 450 €. Everything else you can buy later, e.g. the very important 7.2 kW charging cable (2x16 A) to a normal power socket, which you should have installed instead of a wallbox, if not already existing.

It is very important to provide information about the state premium. It is not always guaranteed that it will run correctly. Especially because you can only apply for the subsidy from the state after the purchase. Make sure that you do not lose what you have saved on the extras when you draw the premium.
