2018 Polestar 1




The Polestar 1 will be built in a limited edition of 1,500 since the end of 2019. So don't complain later that you haven't found a suitable e-car and then give any reasons. But at the same time the Polestar 1 is an interesting experiment, the egg-laying wool-milk sow in the field of e-cars.


The well-known problems with the range of coverage fade into the background. Theoretically, you can use your electrical supply of energy down to the last kilowatt hour without having to look for a charging station. The Polestar 1 is the plug-in hybrid with the largest battery capacity. And when it comes to charging, it may also be far superior to competitors. 50 kW charging power and three-phase AC charging are still normal values for a pure electric car.


You might object that the car is not so sporty. Aren't Pirelli P Zero 21-inch and mechanically adjustable Öhlins dampers not enough for you? A double-charged four-cylinder, four-wheel drive and Torque Vectoring at the rear axle? Well, there are engines that are more power oriented than this one more torque oriented. But all in all, the low unladen weight is impressive inspite of the many drives because of the many carbon parts. Of course, lighter, sporty designed limousines with much less than 735 kW (1000 HP) drive him hopelessly away, but 0-100 km/h in 4.2 s is still a word or?


Conversely, you can almost completely do without refueling with this battery capacity. How far away can your workplace be from you now? And afterwards you can still go shopping. Maybe not yet be charged once every night. It's a miracle that Polestar doesn't specify 0 g/km for CO2 emissions, because you could drive the first 100 km purely electrically and the electricity doesn't count as is generally known. Actually, there is no more pleasant way to enter the age of electronics, is there?


If you are still not convinced, here are a few disadvantages of this desirable overall concept. First of all, there is the unbelievably short range of 124 km due to the battery capacity, which is based on a consumption of 255 Wh/km. By weight comparable e-cars are much more efficient. Then there is the luggage compartment, which already loses 10 percent of its volume if you put in charging cables. There you see, what happens when you build everything that is good and expensive into an existing structure.
