Basically, three types of pure electric cars are emerging. Some only feel comfortable on a purely electric platform, e.g. an ID.3. Others are available with the same body with a combustion engine, hybrid and electric drive.

A thin battery pack was then screwed under the existing body, where the tank of the other vehicles is, it's much thicker. You can recognize such cars by the spare wheel recess that is still there. If they aren't inherently crossovers or SUVs, now they are.

The Astra e does not belong to either category. It is also available with a combustion engine and hybrid, but its batteries are hidden under the seats and in the front center console. There is then a little less space overall, which limits the capacity a bit.

After all, the battery based on the Peugeot 208 has become 4 kWh stronger, but the Astra is also significantly longer. The Citroen e c4 is more suitable for a comparison, but it only has a capacity of 50 kWh.

Its price is currently € 37,500. Practically, such a Stellantis group with its own alternatives. And if you want to drive the Astra purely electrically in the future without being recognized, you can simply omit the 'E' on the license plate.
