1956 Fiat 600D Multipla

The name "Multipla" reappeared much later for a transporter that also offered space for three people next to each other at the front, but could not build on the success of the original Multipla.

The arises from the Fiat 600, takes over almost the entire rear part including drive and rear axle. At the front, however, it becomes a front control arm, so that although you sit on the front axle, the steering to the front axle is located between your legs.

The spare wheel still has to find its place in front of the passenger seat towards the front bulkhead. But then it actually succeeds in offering three rows for six people on relatively thinly padded seats. However, they must not weigh more than 350 kg with luggage and without a driver.

The now four doors are all attached to the B-pillars, but can be opened wide enough. Whereby it is not at all said that the Multipla (multi-purpose) Fiat cannot be used by just two or four people with a large loading volume.

It is even possible to fold the seat backs in such a way that two people can lie side by side on a long enough surface, with some luggage being able to be stowed under the seats.

English subtitles possible . . .
