Ferrari Portofino is a convertible with foldable top.
Like its predecessor, it offers two people on the back seats a tight place. Its output has also not changed significantly with 29 kW (40 hp) to 441 kW (600 hp). But the manufactorer says it to have become lighter despite
increased torsional stiffness.
The engine has meantime received honors, has been accepted as a turbo probably also by the potential buyers. As a flanking measure the soundtrack of the Portofino is improved, not being produced by the
loudspeakers, but according to the manufacturer best enjoyable with an open top.
No, there has not been a simple increase of the load pressure to make a better performance, even by engine management adapted to the selected gear (boost management). The crankshaft and the exhaust system
have been revised and improvements have been made in the response behavior.
Surprisingly, the Portofino is the first GT with Electronic Power Steering. It is influenced by the interaction of E-Diff 3 and F1-Trac. The latter regulates the motor torque, which can still be
transmitted even in critical situations, and the former influences the distribution at the rear axle via a set of clutches. 09/17
