XPeng G3i

Do you have to be afraid of the new in manufacturer circles? Actually already. It will certainly not stop with deliveries to Norway and CHAdeMO will not be the last word either. But when you see what's on offer for just under €34,000 or €36,000, many a provider will pale slightly.

Let's look at the €10,000 more expensive ID.4. It offers 13 cm more length and an approx. 10 kWh larger battery. However, in contrast to the G3i, this is a net measured value. Nevertheless, the car still achieved a quite good charging performance and ranges as a G3 in Norway in winter, especially in the cold (see video).

Will the announced lithium-iron phosphate battery bring even more advantages?

If you look into the interior, the VW can't really keep up, neither with the display behind the steering wheel nor with the one in the middle, with a height-width ratio almost like a smartphone, a good 15 inches diagonally. Besides, there is a version where the windshield protrudes far into the roof. Who likes that kind of thing ...

This also applies to the entire assistance systems. The G3i is currently considered the best autonomous vehicle for parking, and not necessarily only in relation to its price range. That's why the manufacturer advertises it relatively intensively. Basically, it's more than that, namely the self-driving properties. It's unbelievable how many sensors the car has on board.

In addition to the inevitable 360° view, it is the retractable camera on the roof that can be instructed to even follow the owner. It is controlled via gestures or finger positions or directly via a smartphone. It's incredible what gimmicks the Chinese come up with. Will that be allowed in Europe in any case?

And that probably goes even further if you already own the car, because the Over-The-Air update works at XPeng already longer than e.g. at VW. With the additional tightening of the belt, the safety equipment may still be useful, but it can also get on your nerves. And if you're grumbling about the small luggage compartment, it's very usable in any case, especially without a load floor.
