2024 VW Golf GTI
For the GTI, it is the same generation as for the normal Golf, namely the eighth. However, the 'Clubsport' variant only came with the seventh generation. The price of the GTI is currently €17,300 higher, and the Clubsport
costs a good €3,500 more.
And that even though the purchase price of the normal model has also increased significantly in recent years, which has only been partially compensated for by improved equipment. Despite the higher price, the two are still
about 110 kW (150 hp) apart. The fact that the GTI has sportier hp is shown by the more moderate increase in torque of 'only' 150 Nm.
The Clubsport has another 26 kW (35 hp) more. It is even sportier, as only 30 Nm of torque are added. But that only results in 0.4 seconds less for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, and nothing in the top speed. It should also
be noted that the GTI is about 150 kg heavier than the weakest Golf.
Otherwise, you get a large black meshwork at the bottom front, only broken up by a kind of color-contrasting 'gills' that protrude from the side into this somewhat monotonous field. The logo is now illuminated for the first time,
along with the additional red stripe between the headlights that is typical for the GTI.
With a four-cylinder engine, the two tailpipes placed far apart make less sense, but for potential buyers they do. With the best possible tires, brakes and lights, the dual clutch and better interior fittings, in addition to the
higher performance the price difference is justified a little more.
