2026 Škoda Epiq

Our top choice among the three models manufactured in Pamplona, Spain, is clear: we'd go with the Skoda. We don't need the Cupra Raval, which is undoubtedly very sporty-looking, and the ID.Polo is a bit too expensive for us.

In addition, the Epiq has the advantage over both of them of being about 10 cm longer, which means it has an even larger luggage compartment. And it really doesn't look that unsportsmanlike. Especially since it has adopted the vertical slits from the Jeep, albeit with one more.

All joking aside, in this class it's all about space, and, unless you're looking for a car to use for shopping, range as well. And the Epic Essence offers this at what is likely the most affordable price of just over €32,000. We wouldn't even bother with the two less favourable splits in engine power and charging power.

85 kW for shopping, with charging done at home, preferably directly from solar panels. No, the third most expensive option would be the best compromise between saving money and being able to travel when necessary. 24 minutes from 10 to 80 percent, so you just take a break every 250 to 300 km.

It's crazy that you can even tow a trailer weighing up to 1,200 kg, though maybe not exactly for traveling. That doesn't work with the other two either. So, it's a clear choice: the cheapest one or this one. In either case, the steel rims don't bother us either.

At least LED lights are standard front and rear. Traffic sign recognition helps prevent traffic violations, but it is not available on the Epiq 35 and 40. As I said, these are cars for short trips. However, if you were to order a lot of extras with the Epiq model that has a larger battery, you might end up regretting it.

After all, Skoda's larger electric models have come quite close to the Epiq thanks to their current subsidies. It's only about €5,000 more for the Elroq, and it not only has significantly more space, though not in the trunk, but it's also more powerful and has a larger battery capacity.
