The former trendsetter is slowly reporting back to the electric car arena. There are more models, albeit still restrained in terms of maximum battery capacity. It will be interesting to see whether you can therefore offer cheaper and maybe win more customers.


The concept of two different battery variants is astonishing, in which an 'only' air-cooled one with 11 kW to be charged and a liquid-cooled one with 22 kW chargeable is offered for a surcharge. Should the subsidies soon cease to exist or at least be reduced, such cost-saving alternatives could perhaps play a role.


Once again, you don't know whether the battery's specified capacity is fully available. 44 kW would also be tight if this van were more of a city-bound vehicle. After all, its torque is even superior to that of a 1.6 liter diesel when it is fully applied over almost the entire rev range.


Routes with gradients for recuperation can help. It's a good thing that the brake lights can possibly be activated. The liquid-cooled version is advertised with the additional heat pump and one confuses with the announcement that one also want to offer it as an option for the 11 kW version.


Amazing what this van can do in terms of goods to be loaded. The loading floor has the same height as the car with a combustion engine. In addition to the current loading volume, up to 4,900 liters will be possible with a longer version. The 1,500 kg trailer load is also remarkable for an electric car.


Sufficient shelves are a must for a French van. Beside, the two-seater has a folding one for the passenger. The gray bumpers, which are practical for parking bumps, are praised, as are the up to 10-inch screens in the interior and the parking aids, which are still unusually comprehensive for vans.


The list of assistants seems to be almost complete, even if you take something like level 2 driving as a basis. The heated windscreen and the two-zone air conditioning seem a bit unusual, but of course this Kangoo will also be available for passenger transport in the foreseeable future.
