2019 Peugeot e-208

This is already at least the third variant to accommodate the high-voltage batteries. In completely new designs, the method of filling the entire floor with it is gaining acceptance, which of course also includes the greatest possible capacity. In combination with a possible hybrid version, the space under the rear seat is used for this and in the pure E version the space under the luggage compartment is used additionally.

The e-208 stands for a different path. The battery is placed exclusively under the front seats, slightly offset to the front and under the back seat, which, however, leads to slight losses in capacity. Here it is then only 50 kWh, presumably later with improving battery technology a little more. After all, there are hardly any restrictions in terms of height, foot space and luggage space.

340 km range after WLPT should be possible, what can sink in the winter with use of the heating and somewhat fast travel up to 250 km. After all, there is an energy-saving heat pump. Charging of 80 percent direct current in half an hour are said to be possible. Perhaps even more important is the possible three-phase charging of alternating current at home, which means presumably 100 percent in a good eight hours.

And because interest in electric cars is now starting, it is clear that the manufacturers have planned too tightly. The results are delivery times, one year no longer an exception. So this Peugeot, you should reserve early if you want to have a chance on a manageable delivery time. You don't know the purchase price yet, but you don't have to pay anything for the reservation, unlike with other manufacturers. 05/19
