2026 Hyundai Staria

It's been around since 2021, but only as a diesel model, available with either all-wheel drive or seven seats. Hyundai is now launching the first version as a fully electric vehicle with up to nine seats, once again offering plenty of space and flexibility.

Together with the 2025 hybrid model, the trio is now complete. Once again, the dimensions test the limits of what is typical for a standard garage. It's important to note that, except for the front, you wouldn't guess it has this almost prismatic shape.

The manufacturer has done everything possible to use the car's design to eliminate its van-like appearance. The closed front, the glazing that extends relatively far downward, and the lighting design all contribute to this. It doesn't seem as bulky as you might expect based on its dimensions.

It also stands out thanks to its wide sliding doors on both sides and its huge tailgate, which provide exceptionally good access, at least to the second row of seats. Although the car is also available as a gas-powered model with all-wheel drive, the floor is kept pleasantly flat.

The Staria's interior looks uncluttered, especially when you look at the dashboard from the back, with its two displays. It can be configured as a seven- or nine-seater. In addition, certain seats feature a sophisticated folding system, all of which is electric, by the way.

It’s almost standard nowadays, especially with Hyundai, to have Vehicle To Load, as seen in the Staria, which features power outlets both inside and outside the vehicle. It's crazy how this feature lets you see the rear seats right there on the front display.

Seven-seater

The car stands out clearly from a van with windows. Once you sit down, you won't want to get up. Plenty of space, heated and ventilated seats, and the second-row seats can even be turned into comfort mode.

Exceptionally comfortable headrests, a glass roof with a sliding cover above them, and ambient lighting extending all the way to the rear. There's still enough room in there despite the front seats being in the most comfortable position, but it's almost impossible to get out after an accident, partly because the door-opening buttons are too far forward to reach.
