 2023 Fiat Topolino
Amazing the ingenuity of the Italians. And the carelessness with which they fall back on history. The new one cannot be compared with the old one and its importance for the Topolino A, B and C series.
This is a little car developed by Citroën under the name 'Ami' and then handed over to Opel. While one initially paid around €6,000 + VAT at Citroën. cost, it was already €7,000 at Opel as a Rocks-e, at the moment even €
8,000.
By leaving out the doors, a soft top with case and luggage rack, it will probably be offered in Italy for just under € 10,000. Such cheerfulness, appropriately called Dolche Vita, goes well with the remark that this is one-third of a
normal car.
Of course, that's a big exaggeration, because then such would usually have to be a good 7.5 m long. So it takes up rather the half of a normal car. The problem for Fiat was not so much the construction as the art of
modification.
And the Italians did it almost better than the Germans. But it can be assumed that it will not compete with the Opel in Germany. It also reaaly fits better on the Rimini beach, especially in the open version.
Presumably because the plastic parts are dyed through, it is only ever available in a mint green color. If Armani, Damiani, Maserati, Lorenzo Yachts and San Pelgrino really contributed to the design, the changes are rather
modest.
But clearly there. The front and rear are no longer identical. At the front, the Topolino is clearly recognizable as a small car from Fiat. In addition to a restrained rim design, the roll of fabric above the dashboard is tasteful and
the fan is the opposite.
No, you don't want to have an accident with this car and its suspension comfort is modest. But the top speed is put into perspective when you consider that in Stuttgart, for example, only still 40 km/h are generally allowed.
