 1965 Fiat 850 T
It is the direct successor to the Mutipla with the same wheelbase but a total of 20 cm longer. They probably mainly benefit the front. Here the Multipla had the shortcoming with the steering column between the legs. That's
fixed now.
The first version comes onto the market in 1962 as the 600 Transporter. It is completely closed and only has revolving doors, a smaller one hinged on the left above the engine at the rear, front to the cargo area on
the right and optionally opening to the left to the rear.
It is built on the Fiat chassis by Carrozzeria Caprera in Turin. The tank is reached in the middle under the vehicle via the tank flap on the left.
For passengers, there is the version with sliding windows in the doors or in the back, again three rows of relatively simple seating. There is very little space for luggage at the rear above the engine.
Closed special versions have double doors on the side and a large one for the engine compartment at the same time, probably also one available that can be opened upwards. There is even a possible higher roof.
And then there is the 600 T with a relatively high box that extends all the way to the rear above the engine. It is even available as a custom-made hearse, surprisingly not longer, but optionally higher.
In 1965, the 850 T comes out with a more rounded radiator grille. It now has the engine of the Fiat 850. The sliding windows are replaced by crank windows. Wheelbase and length are now also slightly enlarged.
The vehicle experienced the last stretch from 1980 - 1985 as the 900 E. But there were already more than 500,000 made. Here the engine comes as a derated version of the Fiat 127.
