The giant twelve-cylinder engine has long been positioned behind the front axle and for reasons of weight, the transmission back. Four full-size seats created by longer wheelbase, but how to integrate a four-wheel drive? There is asked already creativity you do not want to lead from the back a shaft all the way completely forward and then before the engine to both sides.

FourFour = Ferrari four-seater with four-wheel drive ...

And such a car with twelve cylinders is still quite heavy. No, the Italian technicians think of something better, something that the world has probably never seen. Something that is really only made possible through the tremendous developments in clutch range. But to recognize this and make it usable for its own product, is also quite an achievement.

Family-friendly super sports car as a racing car compensation ...

After all, turns in front quite a bit, namely the crankshaft, of course with the wrong rpm. And when here we install as many gear speeds as rear and both transmissions switch synchronously, we have not much more benefit. At the Ferrari therefore there are only two gear speeds with two partially slipping clutches for right and left their power transmitted to the front wheels. Of course, not all gear speeds, but only for the lower speed range.

An interesting alternative concept to permanent four-wheel, without center differential, longitudinal locking differential and longitudinal-shaft fuss. And what the Ferrari still has to offer than more inside? At least one direct-injection engine, but which in this Constellation can not score really with low fuel consumption. Four cylinders more than the SLS probably make the nearly 2.000 rpm higher engine speed range. Will give with the same displacement clearly more power, but not more torque.

But probably only with suitable winter tyres ...

Something directly is the steering with little feedback even at the brakes. But he knows well to mask his weight at acceleration orgies. One speaks in tests from the possibility to use it as family-friendly first car, ridiculous with this purchase price, even if one has for a long time free inspections. So remains an absolutely suitable for winter use super sports car with stowable rear seat bench and 800 liters volume. 11/11
