 Alfa 6C 2500
Maybe you are accustomed to classic car prices, but one of us rubbing his eyes in amazement if such an Alfa 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este finds a buyer for more than 300,000 euros. May be, you get a nice family house for
this price even in Germany. In perfectly restored condition the car still wins first prizes on concours, from which the car pictured above has its name.
Gifted were the Italian manufacturers of luxury cars. They had a huge reputation from their racing activities and were cleaning up immediately after the Second World War, a little earlier and faster than the average in
Europe. And because the few bodies were at all manufactured by hand, there was no need of expensive tools.
Extraordinairy bodies are formed. The one shown above follows the 'Superleggera' principle of Touring. Alltogether a beautiful and noble outcome, by the way not always following the series but certainly based on
special requests. Another reason that this Villa d'Este is so expensive may be that only 36 were built, of which are five convertibles.
Pictured here is the standard body with the label 'Freccia d'oro' (golden arrow), built 1947-1950, the end of the second series. In the first series it had a wheelbase of 3 meter and a length of 4.9 meter. The performance
was 66 kW (90 hp) at 4600 rpm. In the third series the car receives a notchback. 01/16
