Petrol direct injection - training

The noise comes from the high-pressure injection valves at the top right, because it is a petrol direct injection (Motronic, E-gas, Direct injection) for a VW 1.4L engine with 77 kW of 2002. The system, which is designated as a training board simulator, is supplied by the Lithuanian company AutoEDU.

The injections of the valves in the upper right are directed into measuring tubes, which can be closed. Left separately the spark plugs, ignition sparks in the video not visible. In the middle the wiring diagram to the control unit (placed center bottom), whose lines from/to the control unit are interrupted by connectors and at which can be measured.

The engine underneath is only running to generate the crankshaft and camshaft signals. The temperature and the knock sensor will probably not produce any real signals. The speed of the electric drive indicates the cycle for the whole system and is presumably adjustable in the upper right. To the right of the motor, above the control unit, the two lambda sensors and the sensor for the exhaust gas temperature.

There is no real combustion. However, the values of the various sensors can be adjusted at the left side of the panel and one can see the changes the control unit. This also happens with the signal from the air mass meter at the bottom right, because the fan will probably not be able to achieve a real full-load airflow.

In the further course, the throttle valve servomotor and the valve for the exhaust gas recirculation, the functions of which are observable. With this system VW tried to realize different load within the combustion chamber. Interesting to observe, because of the lambda fluctuations up to 1.55 probably in the upper right. The training effect is increased by 10 hidden switches producing faults. 01/17
