Asphalt Dump Truck
You can inform here about transportation with dump trucks and especially of asphalt. On these page we report new European
regulations concerning the temperatures of transported asphalt. The reasons for the new rules might make think of energy saving, but this time its about quality.
The asphalt for the construction of highways since 2015 and all the roads from 2019 may only be transported in thermally insulated dump trucks. These include an externally coated skip and upto 200°C heat-resistant
and simultaneously insulating cover. A certain thermal resistance is prescribed for the skip even in the area of reinforcements.
Skips are often not fully loaded because due to high density of the load according to its volume. Certainly the load is not evenly distributed. Therefore Kögel installs measurement at the corners. These temperatures are
not only displayed, but can even be documented by an optional Bluetooth printer, documented safe and litigable.
Because insufficient or too unevenly heated asphalt during the handover to the paver lowers the quality of the tarmac. Thereby the segregation of the components is an important cause. There are now even transports in
heated skips. The docking at the paver should take place as soon as possible. Not until here, the cover can be removed or displaced.
Depending on the design it can remain closed even during the tilt process and only needs to be postponed (electrically) while being loaded. An additional chute is no longer necessary for tipping because the tilting
mechanism provides enough overhang of the skip. Parts that could be reached by the tipped asphalt are set either higher or are correspondingly turned away. This saves cleaning time. 04/16
