XPeng P5




In the Netherlands it should already be available at dealers, and then probably in the Scandinavian countries as well. How many manufacturers actually compete with the Tesla Model 3? This also explains the high price of the XPeng P5 in Europe.


That would be around €28,000 in China, but experience has taught us that the prices there cannot simply be transferred to Europe. At the moment, of course, there are only well-equipped versions and prices are quoted around €50,000 depending on the country. Only in Norway should it be €10,000 less, presumably because of the state subsidies there.

But Tesla has also raised its prices sharply and it remains to be seen whether XPeng will hopefully orientate itself towards cheaper brands and models after the current difficulties. There still seems to be enough margin. Given the current market situation, why should you offer something cheaper?


XPeng is likely to become more of a competitor in Europe once enough vehicles can be exported. The P5 has a 12.3'' display behind the steering wheel, but the operation and certain arrangements in the central display (15.6") are somewhat reminiscent of Tesla.

It's not quite as bad that you can't adjust the length of the steering wheel, but well the non-folding rear seat. A cooling compartment is offered in the middle for this purpose. The limousine idea was apparently thought through to the end.

Although the P5 is only 8 cm shorter than the P7, it has a wheelbase that is almost 23 cm shorter. Nevertheless, there is still enough space in front of the rear seat bench and, depending on the adjustment of the front seats, also space below them. The interior has a clear tendency towards quality.

The extensive recording of the environment by a total of 32 sensors, including two times lidar, is not comparable to the Model 3. This suggests good preparation for autonomous driving, since OTA charging is already being promised.

What else? Yes, a heat pump is available, as is the option of tapping 230 volts (Vehicle ToLoad) and even a partial solar roof. There is no frunk, but there is enough space under the rear loading floor.
