In front an electric motor is integrated between transverse engine and double-clutch transmission, enough for former GTE versions. But despite of 220 Nm the electric motor is relatively small for such big car, 1.8 meter high. Instead of a mechanical connection, there is a stronger rear electric motor with higher torque than that of the combustion engine.
The highlight of this car is, assuming a not too much weight, expected to be accelerating very well, if all three engines develop a total of 740 Nm of torque. An SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds?
If someone is looking for an eierlegende Wollmilchsau (German expression for more than an all-round talent), he/she will probably find it here. With the right tire choice you probably have to make little compromises concerning off-road abilities. It has a lot of space inside, because width is only 1.9 m parking problems may be moderate. It runs once again out on two drawbacks, the electric range and the purchase price.
And since it's the year 2016, year two of the exhaust scandal, and the first major motor show will be held in Detroit, we have added videos from the town and the speeches of two important VW representatives. 01/16
