This is a proven strategy: if you are in a jam, you should not talk too much about the reasons for this, but about a new star best combined with an (almost) new company philosophy. This is what VW is doing right now.

And it looks really fantastic for a compact car. Please keep in mind that its length is still 15 cm below those of the current Golf. Additionally a performance, which is not completely expressed in the 125 kW, if one may assume approx. 300 Nm of torque from zero to 3000 rpm.

If this prototype as production car really comes to the market in 2020 and under realistic circumstances creates an average between the promised 400 to 600 km range, then really a million E-cars from VW could roll across the streets in 2025. Prerequisite: The price does not rise above the current, may be rather even more favorable.

And although it has the larger wheelbase, it is so manoeuvrable, thanks to the rear engine drive, that the turning circle is less than ten meters. If already the present Golf is characterized as a good touring car, the new one could improve its quality in cities, of course mainly by the zero emissions there.

The car becomes a 'mobile living space with a lounge atmosphere', a lot of (controllable) lighting and an 'interactive center'. Let us hope that the cloud will not only habits of inmates kept safe. It is also interesting to see the space concept shown in the last picture with movable units. 10/16
