 2016 VW EA 211 EVO
The VTG loader has once be introduced by Porsche as the first manufacturer of gasoline engines. Now VW is taking over this
technology. Apparently, it has now found his firm position at the end of the exhaust manifold, which remains integrated in the cylinder head.
At almost every new engine optimization, the flow rate of the coolant and the intensity of the heat transfer are used. The aim is to achieve a uniform as well as low-resistance flow with as little coolant as possible.
Added to this is the further development of the thermomanagement.
The viscosity is now 0 to 20, the oil pump delivers fully variable, the first main bearing is coated separately. Also, the combination of plasma coating and cylinder honing at the most powerful EVO favored reduced wear and friction.
The geometric compression of 12.5: 1 despite charging amazes initially, is however in the Miller process
controlled by a particularly fast adjustment of the intake camshaft. This adjustment and/or shutdown
is also available at the outlet side. However, an injection pressure of up to 350 bar is new. 03/17
