2016 VW Amarok
'Men know what they want.' That's the way VW begins the tale of the new
Amarok. The question is, of course, answered in the same prospectus. No, the
payload of 1 t and 1.22 m particularly wide loading area probably not.
Elsewhere in the portfolio of VW Commercial Cars one would find better options.
May be they are inspired by the 3.5 t trailer weight with trailer stabilization despite
of 'only' 2.36 t kerb weight, but again not for everyday
use. Dreams of towing a yacht? Nevertheless, if men
want something, then that are obviously the new two V6 powerhouses.
You can start with the middle performed one for 41,000 €. The strongest with
550 Nm is only available with Highline option beginning with 50.000 €.
The weakest with 120 kW (163 HP) appears in one year. Then is available also the
average 2,000 € cheaper with six-speed with a switchable four-wheel and
even only rear-wheel drive.
There are new additional options, among others the mat, but not totally
mat color 'Indium Gray'. Then it starts off further with 20 inch wheels and a lot of pipe
for running boards and ornament for the rear box. The seats are then electrically
adjustable in almost every direction. Leather covers not only the seats but also
the handbrake lever (Why is there still?) and the gear knob. And
nevertheless, even more chrome in the interior seems not to guarantee the feeling of the luxury class.
The 'men in USA' have to live further without a chance to buy an Amarok, because there exists a special
import tax since 50 years. So these in Hannover and Argentina
built 'world car' just misses an important part of the market, for which it
was created. Why the car does not already run from the assembly line in Chattanooga (Tennessee)? 10/16
