2017 Škoda Citigo

It is already in the model program for five years, so it was time for a facelift. It is probably one of the last, rather smaller tasks that Jozef Kaban has been responsible for as design boss of Škoda Auto since 2008. He has now switched to BMW, although having done a well-recognized work at Škoda, never only following the mainstream almost unconditionally.

Of course, such a task at the Citigo is difficult because of the lack of budget and necessary settling movement of VW-up and Seat-Mii. First to be seen performing a facelift in the truest sense of the word. Probably also because of pedestrian protection the car has grown forward by 34 mm, so that in principle including the hood everything is new.

Storage in great numbers, umbrella under passenger seat.

You may judge for yourself how effective the changes to the Citigo of 2013 are. Inside there were always seats with integrated headrests and a still height-adjustable steering wheel. This is now also available with functional buttons and in leather. Two different designs for the instruments complete the picture.

The engine equipment has not changed. We have printed the normal CO2 values above. Through start-stop and recuperation (+ 400 Euro) still 5 g/km less can be achieved. An automated manual gearbox costs 700 euros extra. For the multi-user and/or environmentally conscious, the 100 kg heavier natural gas variant with a 3,000 euro surcharge may be a tip (video below). 02/17
