 2018 Renault Kadjar
Compared to the Nissan Qashqai (last video), the Renault Kadjar has done a lot to make it look stouter. This starts with the front, which has a higher impact, with a large hunchback on the bonnet, a barely subdivided
large radiator grille, not quite so narrow lighting units and larger openings for fog lights.
At the back, the Kadjar looks rather three- than two-parted as the Qashqai. But it has the more impressive lighting unit. The rear window is steeper in the Kadjar, the third side window is larger, with probably a little
better circumferential visibility. Under the side windows, the shoulders for the rear tires get more emphasis than at the Japanese. Its effect from the side is rather quiet except a sharp edge through the door handles.
Not quite plausible is the low position of the middle screen for both. Here the external impression is reversed. One now has the feeling that the Qashqai is a little more intrusive. If one compares the Kadjar to its
predecessor, then apart from the modern exhaust gas detoxification of the two diesel engines only decisive has been done with the gasoline engines. They now have a four-way cat, more displacement, more power
and above all more torque.
However, the prices have significantly increased, even with the entry-level model, which once cost just under 20,000 euros. The stronger gasoline engine is only available in the Bose Edition for 9,600 euros extra. Even
the smallest diesel is now 2,000 euros more expensive. Expensive hardware retrofit from the factory with little 5 hp more power. The Nissan Qashqai is cheaper, but only Renault currently offers the new engine after 6d
