2017 Renault Espace




The two diesel engines have remained, but the petrol engine is new. With a displacement of 1.8 liters, it now has a capacity of 200 cm³ more. It can almost reach the smaller of the two diesel engines with respect to the torque and its generation at low engine speeds. In consumption, of course, it does not approach, but has an outstanding performance.

Clarification is difficult, because the Espace is now called 'Crossover'. It was originally a Multi-Purpose Vehicle. In addition to this, especially in this Initial Paris version, it meets certain requirements of upper classes. But do not worry, a four-wheel version is apparently not planned.


The 'incomparable' comfort of the Espace is slightly reduced in the Initial Paris by the 19-inch rims. There is also much to be found here, which goes far beyond the actual task of a transporter offering more than 2 m³ of loader space. The adaptive suspension, full LED, reversing camera and four-wheel steering are still understandable, but it also includes BOSE Surround, nappa leather, decorative seams and electric seat adjustment. Of course, nearly all assistants are on board.

And what does this magnificent specimen cost? You can buy it only with the gasoline or the most powerful diesel, both with 7 or 6 speeds of a double clutch transmission, then however at the same price of less than 50,000 euros. 08/17
