 2019 Renault EZ-POD
Admittedly, at first glance a strange vehicle. It is based on the Renault Twizy and is supposed to demand only 3 square meters of floor space. It is intended for up to two people who enter through only one electrically
opening door and take place diagonally with their legs towards the door.
No question about it, the vehicle is designed for fully autonomous urban traffic. Due to its small width, it can be used, for example, between bollards also go to areas that a normal car cannot reach. One hopes probably
for special permissions and stresses the low speed at which it will be on the way.
For the other road users rather a gloomy prophecy, for parcel delivery staff on the so-called last mile a glimmer of hope, at times it does not necessarily have to park e.g. in a through road and comes perhaps possibly
a little closer to the clients. However, in Germany the government has just forbidden the sidewalk for the new electric scooters.
Because of its low speed, it should require fewer sensors than larger self-propelled cars, Renault lists only one camera and a lidar detector. In addition, there are radar sensors at the front and rear for the longer and
shorter distance and two antennas on the roof. However, a lidar sensor is still one of the more expensive sensors.
Renault sees this vehicle e.g. in pedestrian zones and airports, i.e. in regions with a higher population density. Whether there is always as especially polite known system has any chance at all to come ahead?
Hopefully, these two inmates are not faster by walking. After all, the vehicle offers an insight into the future imagined by manufacturers.
The reaction is that the influx to the larger cities is still increasing. By the way, interesting about the mikromobil should be the security installations. No safety belts would then indicate a maximum speed of 11 km/h. Also
a second exit would have to be necessary, if it tilts to the door side. You can recognize something like a tailgate in the video below.
Or do they assume that in the future there will be an area sealed off from all other traffic, where only cars will move autonomously, illuminated at the front and rear, but not equipped with a lighting system, just as
complete wide lanes are already reserved for bicycles? 05/19
