Something's not quite right. The cover image above features an American version of the G model, while the data comes from the German 911. You can tell the destination by the Sealed-Beam headlights (see front view).

This image is appropriate here because we 'owe' the Americans, or more specifically California, for the new bumpers. They're supposed to be able to withstand impacts up to 8 km/h. The Europeans, however, have always suspected that they're trying to get rid of annoying competitors by citing safety concerns.

After all, these bumpers don't look as bad on large American road cruisers as they do on smaller European cars. At least Porsche has one of the best solutions for this.
