The new suspension is said to be 20 kg lighter than the old one. Do you really think that four trailing arms plus two coil springs are so much lighter than two leaf springs? By the way, the latter are still installed in the most inexpensive King Cabs. Additionally we are missing here all-wheel drive and air conditioning. So you get the base price down to favorable appearing 25,000 euros.

In the appearance inside this pickup is just similar to a limousine, of course, with much higher driving position and all-round visibility. Added to this is still the large rear box and under the body the additional frame with four-wheel technology and last but not least the diesel engine. This perhaps explains why the limit of 40,000 euros can be exceeded easily.

There is available also a interior fittings and cover available, which makes the box perhaps so valuable that you might not like to use it for example for cement bags, although you may load up to one ton. So Pickups have not always universal advantages, even if they have lots of space. It's the same if you compare the Double with the Kings Cab. The rear door are of different size and opening procedures and the back seat space is not the same, too.

There are almost always at least 2 tons unladen weight, possibly together with remarkable up to 3.5 tons trailer load. With the possible payload you easily reach 6,5 tons. Not for nothing, there are also Navaras allowed as trucks. We have tested the predecessor with 160 kW and a Golf TDI with 77 kW on a dynamometer at 80 km/h at full load and measured four times as much NO_X emissions. 07/16
