 2016 Nissan NV 300
Do you know why so few manufacturers specify for a combustion engine the data bore and stroke? Because you could trace the origins of the respective engine then. Some manufacturers do not want that. e.g.
Mercedes, whose engines of the C 180d and C 200d coincide with those of this NV 300 here.
Why? Because they are from Renault and are also offered in the Trafic and Talisman. The latter is in the basic price then approximately 7,000 euros cheaper with almost equal dimensions and similar form. That's why
Mercedes does not want that. How practical, that they can now offer from the same engine with turbo technology at Renault up to four different power levels.
It is also possible to shift slightly the power and thus obscure the origin of the engine totally. Whether in the case of Mercedes, it's difficult to say. The performance (and torque) of the NV 300 is also higher than that of
the Trafic. But this has more to do with the development of the diesel engine. The traffic came in 2014, the NV 300 in 2016.
The two are thus identical up to the headlights. They still have a brother in the Opel Vivaro. Whether this will also be so in the future, if Opel belongs to the PSA group? Between Nissan and Renault it was synonymous
with the predecessor, the 'Primastar' and will remain because of the close connection between the two. The new name places the Nissan between NV 200 and 400.
A truly large vehicle, even in the shorter of the two versions, in the city somewhat problematic. However, there is a rear-view camera in addition to the park sensors in the rear bumper and a so-called blind-angle mirror.
The long version with 3.5 m wheelbase loses its agility in the truest sense of the word, difficult to make for example a U-turn. But you have 2 m or 4,000 m3 sup> for a double cabin for 5 to 6 persons, with the
load of 900 kg still manageable.
For all NV 300, there is a possible 7''-display with multimedia, navigation and Nissan-Connect, for convenient consumption start-stop and an ECO button (extra charge), which limits the engine. There are two heights
for a wide range of cargos, and the practical possibility of transferring long load far below the passenger seat. Only symmetrical wing rear doors are available, but with up to 270° opening.
Ultimately, three large side windows has the van, in the middle even as sliding windows. Up to nine people can go up. The headrests can also be extended generously. The car is rather quiet, even up to 140 km/h, but
conversation over seat rows should be electronically supported. By the way, from the basic price of the van, Trafic and NV 300 are not much different. 08/17
