 2018 Nissan Leaf
It is the market leader worldwide. Apart from the wheelbase, it has little in common with its predecessor. It's a bit longer, slightly wider and lower, but with a much better design. The two-color option supports this
effectively. Only in the maximum weight of the payload it is inferior the e-Golf, apart from the absolutely unimportant maximum
speed.
But with the newest generation of e-vehicles you should be careful. With the larger battery capacity, charging by household socket takes about 16 hours. The car is therefore only partially ready for operation the next
day. Should also come the version with 60 kWh, then that would be about 24 hours. So in any case you can calculate a wallbox for more than 1.000 Euro plus installation.
But that's not all. For 34,950 euros, a special model is offered right from the start. Because almost all the goodies with which Nissan advertises in addition to the wider range, they are only available in this package,
e.g. such as semi-autonomous driving and fully autonomous parking after choosing a specific parking space. Seat and steering wheel heating as well as the 360° all-round view are also included as well as an
additional (AC) charging cable, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The one-pedal driving you can forego, because a normal e-car can be driven that way normally.
50 kW DC cable is standard. |
Despite all this, and even with a only in height adjustable steering wheel, the new Leaf is a real challenge for the competitors, not a facelift, but technically and optically overhauled. The press release of Nissan evoke
memories of the IDS Concept Car at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 (video above). It is further obvious that there are close-to-production technologies which, in addition to loading, e.g. via solar collectors also feeding
back the energy to the house perhaps in the evening time. 11/17
