 2016 Mercedes X-Class
It does not really seem easy to sell a Nissan Navara as a Mercedes. The saying 'The best or nothing' sounds strange, because
obviously comes the entire platform from Nissan. Not that one would not trust Nissan 'the best'. Finally, the company is the No. 2 in the world of midsize pickups.
The X-Class, which Daimler celebrates as an entry into a new product segment, is first produced in Barcelona and later in Cordoba (Argentina) very close to the Navara.
It is surprising that as possible markets are called Australia, South America, South Africa and only then Europe.
After all, Daimler offers two design variants and already shows a V-six-cylinder with Daimler cover. Strangely, however, it is in the process of abolishing the V-6. Should that be a Nissan engine with Mercedes signet?
They tell us, the new car contains a 4MATIC with permanent all-wheel. But the control knob on the dashboard is set to 2WD.
It is also strange that the complete series of push buttons for the four-wheel drive including 12V-jack corresponds precisely to that of the Navara, even the operation of the gearbox.
They say, the rear axle with five arms got a new tuning. But it is still is a rigid axle and to be seen at the Navara, too. 10/16
