 2018 Mercedes Sprinter
3. generation after 3,4 Mio. sold vehicles |
It is now also available with front-wheel drive. Unlike the Crafter, however, the four-wheel drive is derived from the longitudinal engine with rear-wheel drive. Therefore, there is the six- also a nine-speed automatic with
torque
converter for front-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission for the others. The long overdue front-wheel drive allows 50 kg more payload, a 8 cm deeper loading floor and a lower entry-level price. In
addition,
with a so-called 'power cabine', only the front half of a Sprinter is available.

In principle, they have retained the previously existing variants. Only the front-wheel drive has been added. However, it is only available up to 4.1 tons total weight and not for the largest wheelbase. However, the new,
optional
air suspension is also possible with rear-wheel drive.
Typical MBUX Display equipment, 7 and 10,25 '', both optional, USB type C. |
Inside, the Sprinter gets ever more similar to the Mercedes passenger cars, here, of course, the new A-Class. You notice it very little in the basic equipment on the smaller steering wheel. Infotainment, 'Hey
Mercedes' and
navigation are only available at extra cost, LED light too. Unfortunately, then the storage compartments under the windshield are open, hopefully not reflecting in the screen.
Max. Service Intervall: Front drive 40.000 km (2 years), others 60.000 km (2 years) |
The equipment includes seats with extra little lateral support for frequent dropouts and on the other hand, those very back careful with electric seat adjustment and memory function. Tourer and Bus may even have a
very flat
air conditioning rear on the roof.
With PRO connect and adVANce we deal separately. |
It is less well known that since 2006 there has been an attachment manufacturer center at Mercedes for cooperation with certain refurbishment partners. Worldwide 50%, in Europe even 60% of all newly registered
Sprinters receive expansion or development. 02/18
