McLaren 570 GT




How to define a McLaren? There seems to be the same basic concept since the days of the first MP4-12C. They let fabricate the vast majority of parts outside the house, but they work closely together with their suppliers. The approx. 75 kg heavy CfK monocoque is thus produced at CarboTech in Austria. However, there are now several versions, recognizable for example by the differently high sillboards. They are probably particularly reinforced at the folding convertible versions.

Of course, this is not the complete chassis, because at the front and rear so-called crash boxes from aluminum are screwed. Always the same V8 with 3.8 liters. Different turbo equipments produce performance from 540 to 737 hp, only in hp because after the P1 the vehicles carry this in their type designations.

Another characteristic of a McLaren are, besides the normal already remarkable appearance, the wing doors, also for the open versions. The prices are above a Million for the P1 and 340,000 euros for the LT Spider. But do not worry, all sold out allready. Staying the 720S and the Sport Series with 540C, 570S and 570GT, fine staggered in 20,000 euros steps.


Thus, the 570 GT costs at least about 200,000 euros with corresponding waiting time. It is described as a more everyday model than the others, because it is easier to enter with lower sillboards and offers with the glass tailgate an additional, but mostly flat, luggage compartment. It's suspension is said to be more closely adjusted to a GT.


The so far mentioned has already shown they do everthing to reduce the weight. This starts with upholstered and adjustable seats, only to order as an option, and with a very precise reacting, but 'only' electronic locking differential and little insulation material to reduce the engine noise. After all, it is still quite bouncy and can be lifted for road unevennesses. 05/17
