Mazda CX 30

The designations will probably find their way to a logical whole at some point. In the meantime, we have to be content with the fact that the CX 30 is located between the CX 3 and the CX 5. It fits to the newer cross-overs, which mostly shrink to lengths compatible for the city and also in the height a little.

Mazda is the world champion in automotive terminology. Not only is 'Skyactiv' engine technology and design classified under 'Kodo' here, 'Sleek and Bold' was also used for the outer form, which emphasises the slimness of the form on the one hand, and sets a clear accent on the other, as is the case with bold letters, for example. Observe for yourself, especially the rear, which in the middle reaches almost as far back as the bumper.

Although on a common platform, it looks shorter than the new Mazda 3. Unlike an SUV, you don't sit quite as high, but you have enough headroom in the back. The coupé shape results from the slant of the tailgate and a surprisingly narrow C-pillar, especially when looking to the rear, and not from the lowering of the roof. Unbelievable how many terms Mazda has used: Yohaku (beauty of empty space), Sori (curves with balance and harmony) and Utsuroi (play of light and shadow).

We are still interested in SPCCI, the new gasoline compression engine, in which increased compression, a compressor and a sophisticated control system ensure that commercially available fuel is always brought above the self-ignition temperature of each individual cylinder just after TDC. The spark plug is then only there to initiate the ignition of the inhomogeneous mixture by compression and at the same time be an important measuring sensor for the internal pressure.
