Somewhat confusing is the new Levante Trofeo already, because with 'trofeo' (Italian for 'trophy') are actually Maserati vehicles meant, which form their own class in racing. We assume that this car will be for sale, otherwise such a lavish performance in New York would not make any sense.

Yes, it is fast. It will even replace the currently fastest SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It has less power, but the lower air resistance. Since benefits Maserati from the engine supplier Ferrari, as well as with its smaller V6.

The Maserati people are not only proud of the over 300 km/h maximium speed, but also the 156 hp/l. But there are better examples, such as the A-Class from AMG with more than 190 hp/l. Even the smaller V6 offers at least 143 hp/l. Of course the Levante Trofeo is still impressive. After all, according to Maserati, one should not run from the storm, but be the storm.

There are already V8 engines in Maserati models, but this one has the most power, although the car is not the fastest. Incidentally, all efforts have been made to keep the chassis comfortable despite all the necessary adjustment to the possible high speed.

It has not changed much except for standard LED matrix light, carbon on the front spoiler and there any other design, maybe because the new engine needs even more cooling. Strange anyway, that you see through the grille with relatively few struts the cooling blind (see video below).

And so it continues cheerfully with the carbon parts at the bottom of the sides and behind in the diffuser. Inside, a new leather and carbon design, too and a new keener drive-mode. Presumably, the stronger engine in the other Maserati models will not be long in coming. 04/18
