The hexagonal (six-sided) grille already existed previously, only the broad cross bar is missing. Now there are four much smaller ones, gleaming dependend on the trim level, two of them interrupted by the license plate. Quite different is the turbo version, the radiator grill is black with a wide chrome frame. Below once again chromium over the entire width and front as weel as rear a red end trim, no matter what color the car is painted.

Little has changed, except that the smallest diesel engine is removed and the others got a bit more performance. Turbocharged and downgesized engines are not available. The only turbo version is a 1.6-liter petrol engine with performance above-average. This variant corresponding to the other ones has a favourable price-performance ratio. But who compares the driving performance with more expensive competitors (Opel, VW and others) may be a little bit disappointed. The i30 Turbo is more manerly, cercerning ride comfort and noise.

Really new is the dual clutch transmission (+1750 €).

The dimensions have not changed compared to its predecessor. With its much longer doors, the three-door (+ 300 euros) has the same wheelbase as the five-door variant and station wagon (+ 1,000 euros), the latter is only slightly longer. Overall, there are interior and loading capacity slightly above class average. However, the ratios of power to maximum speed does not indicate necessarily the best aerodynamics.

The turbocharged version is available in the three and five-door version. Its seats are a combination of textile and leather, which is red colored inwards (pictures above). Infotainment, assistents and interfaces are with the predecessor already available. However, the cost-effecting pressure on parts of the cladding is noticeable. The interior convinces thoroughly from optical impression, the number of shelves and the convenience of the seats. 05/16
