Gradually, all the competitive advantages of other manufacturers are compensated by the Koreans. This affected the partly to European eyes impossible design and apparently uncatchable lead in the engine and transmission technology.

The car is from 2011, and has petrol direct injection optional even with charging and Direct Shift Gearbox. Small flaw: You have to decide between turbocharger and DSG, the former is only available with automatic converter.

It will certainly not last much longer then Hyundai combines also even more powerful engines with DSG and all-wheel drive to a particularly sporty vehicle. You may guess with whom one competes in the world with even respectable growth rates in Europe.

But it not just so, that one runs merely after the innovations of other manufacturers. Wow, the idea with the three doors for this sporty coupe, two right and one left. Yes yes, the Mini it has demonstrated, but with the Veloster there is for the first time an car otherwise really designed only as a two-seater.

Nevertheless, of course, one has in mind also the customers of particularly sporty compact cars. Because with the additional door the car is even conditionally suitable for families. Generally this is a good idea, because left the B-pillar has to be located relatively far back because of the fastened seat belt also suitable for tall people. Front passenger can easily sit right a little further forward. For right-hand drive, of course, the third door is left.

Otherwise one has kept the arrangement of the windows left and right as equal as possible. The rear door handle is moved to the window. On the other hand one attaches importance to differences in distinguishing of the turbo version. Since the waiver on the wearer of logo and trademark and their placement directly in the radiator grill creates more respect in the fast lane. The LED daytime running light does the rest.

A Hyundai Veloster is something for the quick one-child family. At not too large space requirement the car is even to accept as the only one in the family. After all, the price is moderate and the driving performance okay, at least in the upper speed range. The range of optional equipment is manageable, because the car probably has a long way to us. But that can only be good for the family budget. 05/14
