2015 Honda Civic R

It did not exist for five years in Germany, never in the USA. Now it is even produced and to be offered there. It belongs to the class of the particularly powerful 2WDs, but must fight as a front-wheel drive with a lot of all-wheel-drives.

This has consequences. E.g. when accelerating on wet surfaces watch out, there are no electronics to prevent spinning. At all, the Civic R is perceived as rather 'mechanical'. This applies to its (wonderful) gearbox and the differential lock. The former costs it the victory against the Golf R with Launch Control (DSG) in the acceleration race, despite its 100 kg extra weight.

Elektronics? Yes indead, e.g. adaptive suspension.

However, the Golf is € 3,000 more expensive, with DSG and equipment reconciled much more. However, hardly anyone will falter between Civic R and Golf R, rather between Honda and Ford Focus, similarly striking, but also significantly more expensive. It is not faster despite more power. At the Nürburgring and 5 other European circuits, the Civic R even set the lap record for front-wheel drives.

At the price you have to take the equipment into account. A versatile cockpit, reversing camera, automatic climate control, hands-free telephone, 7-inch infotainment, external audio sources possible, Internet, LED low beam, alarm system. For € 2,500 more (GT), there is a 320W sound system, MP3 CD, navigation, 2-zone climating, traffic sign detection and tracking assistance. 11/16
