Compared to its predecessor, it has become longer by 4 cm at 3 cm longer wheelbase and now also available with seven seats (from 37.990 Euro). The big gasoline engine and the diesel engine have disappeared, the base price increased by 4,500 euros. New is a 1.5-liter with different boost pressure in manual and CVT transmission.

The new automatic is not recommended, because it is artificially staggered and nibbles on performance and consumption. The version with four-wheel drive is 2,000 euros more expensive, but only from the Elegance version (+2,700 euros) to have. Otherwise, the basic version is already equipped with 2-zone air conditioning and LED headlights. The Europe version is more geared than the USA.

The 2017 introduced Honda CR-V is now also coming to Europe. It will be offered here in addition to a petrol version with hybrid drive (pictures below). Also, there will be a purely electric version, which was presented in late 2017 in Tokyo. And then there's a 'NewV' version that comes with more features for Autonomous Driving coupled with artificial Intelligence.

The manufacturer describes the CR-V as 'the world's best selling SUV', referring to figures from JATO Dynamics for the years 2013-2016. It is 6 cm longer as the predecessor built on the same platform as the Civic, has little more wheelbase, lower ground clearance and became slightly wider, as can be seen on the rear shoulders above the wider 18'' rims. They can be ordered in two colors and equipped with dynamic spoke design (see pictures).

The front did not change very spectacular, but almost everything is different than before, including bonnet and now from inside closeable cooling grille. The hybrid version comes with a two-liter i-VTEC engine, Atkinson cycle and two electric motors. The choice between front and four-wheel drive is maintained.

Certainly, the space inside of this vehicle is an important selling point. Even with five seats one notices the enormous effort. This starts with doors that open at 90° and a sitting position that does not cause claustrophobia, even for tall people, especially not in height. The rear seat backs are divided 60 to 40 and adjustable in inclination. If you fold it forward, the actual area seat lowers. To obtain a continuous loading area now, you can hook the cover of the spare wheel a little higher. Incidentally, the center seat belt comes off the ceiling, but is hooked in two places for a full three-point harness. 09/18
