1907 Harley Davidson
In 1905 the first race victory was won, the 15 miles of Chicago in 19:02 minutes, which corresponds to an average of about 30 km/h. The first employee was hired.
And in 1906 the move to a new production facility (picture above) took place because the wooden hut, enlarged to more than double, was no longer sufficient.
The new building on Chestnut Street (later Juneau Avenue) was also to be built of wood, but much bigger with 8.5 by 24 meters. There were first brochures and advertisements in newspapers. The color changed from
black to gray with double lines painted by aunt Janet Davidson, whereupon the nickname 'Silent Gray Fellow' arose.
In 1907 the third brother William A. Davidson (picture) also terminated his job as a foreman at the Milwaukee Road Railroad. Walter and Arthur Davidson won a total of four races in and around Milwaukee. On the 17th
September the Harley-Davidson Motor Company was founded.
The company now had 18 employees and was doubled by an increase in its area (picture below). After all 150 motorcycles for the price of 210 dollars are supposed to have been manufactured 1907.
