 Ball Pin Tyre
As you can see on the video above, Goodyear already has this ball-shaped tyre in sight, but at each of the four wheels one. This provides special advantages, first of all a larger contact surface, a steering on
each wheel and better protection against moisture.
Most spectacular, however, the parking is possible exactly perpendicular to the previous direction of travel. Hankook calls this the 'rotability of the tyre by up to 360'. Here, however, is only one ball wheel under a small
passenger cabine. Similar to the Segway, only in the three-dimensional space, the vehicle can be moved now.
A two-wheeler is moved into the curve by a first steering against the curve direction, in order to obtain sufficient oblique position for the curve. So does Hankook's ball pin tyre, first driving
the ball tyre e.g. to the left to use the slight tilting for the appropriate angle.
Likewise, the unicycle is operated e.g. even during braking and acceleration (video below). As with the Segway, this vehicle holds the balance, but also in the lateral rather than the forward/reverse direction. Perhaps
a little more side space is needed for stabilization. But then it should probably be the most compact and effective people transport medium at all protecting against rain. 09/17
