2018 Ford Mustang





No, you buy a European, not an American Ford Mustang here in Germany. It has no air scoops in the hood, a larger radiator and a longer drive train ratio, because of possible higher sustained pace. The suspension tuning is changed. And you have always had different standards for the headlights in the USA. This also applies to the color of the turn signals and tail lights. You should take all that into consideration if you want to get your Mustang straight from the USA for a price that is up to a third cheaper.

The fuel is still about one third cheaper.

That the American V6 is not offered here, does not seem to be a disadvantage. So the question rightly comes to four cylinders in row or eight in V-form. In addition to the extra payment of 7,000 euros, there are still significantly higher emissions. It seems the performance of the four-cylinder with only 89 Nm less at a 1600/min lower speed are not so bad. Obviously, this American V8 is no longer sovereign from low speeds to operate.


Presumably, however, the sound of the V8 will be irreplaceable. But they are taking all effort at Ford, even with flaps in the exhaust system of the smaller engine. Unfortunately, the Ford Mustang in this country is not protected to fall into the hands of bullies and after conversion loudness is the result instead of noble sound. Apparently the car is still too cheap, or loses value too fast. Maybe it helps to approach the convertible version with soft top. Where is there a relatively well-equipped V8 convertible from 43,500 euros?


However, the colors of the coupé in our pictures costs a whopping 1300 € surcharge, Recaro seats 1800 €. The newly available MagneRide results to € 2,000 more, while the surcharge for 8'' touch screen, navigation and linking with 1200 € still holds back. Of course, more premium is still possible here, as well as the styling and other wheels. You see, the € 60,000 limit can also be reached with a coupé. But other icons are more expensive. However, in our practice since 2001, it is the first vehicle in which neither in the price list nor in the brochure any measurements are given. 12/17
