2016 Ford Kuga
To get to the point: The Kuga is from the inside a multi-purpose car with plenty of space and from the outside a SUV. Therefore it seems justified that only half of the
engines are offered with four-wheel drive. A choice between 2WD and 4WD exists only for one of six, the diesel engine in the middle of the range.
May be not sufficient for potential buyers, but the all-wheel drive is offered exclusively with automatic gearbox, and on the other hand an automatic without 4WD is not available. Is this the new offensive of Ford, instead
of selling one car worldwide, to provide yet again country- or at least continet-specific vehicles?
Otherwise the new Kuga has much to offer, may be because of many new competitors. The typical Ford cockpit, adapted to the requirements of such a big car, has been
'cleared' and newly equipped with an 8-inch computer system. Also human speech control seems now feasible. But why are the keys immediately arranged in front of the
touch screen in such a way that they are pressed simultaneously during its actuation?
With the diesel engines it is understandable that the less powerful is offered now with 1.5
liter displacement. In the case of petrol engines, however, something seems to have gone wrong. No matter
which one of the three power stages one selects, over a wide speed band it has always the same torque. So you may save the 1,750 more euros and partly the 7,000 euros for the 'stronger' petrol engines. 11/16
