2023 Ford Explorer Electric
The cooperation with VW is also bearing the first fruits for Ford. Despite the Mach E, Ford has been struggling on the European market, especially the German market. The MEB kit is now available not only in the IDs, the
Škoda Enyaq, Cupra Born and Audi Q4 but also in the Ford Explorer.
In addition to the two larger battery packs, the drives and thus the wheelbase have probably been adopted. Only the length is between ID.3 and ID.4. Nevertheless, there is still a relatively large luggage compartment for the
length.
The car will roll off the assembly line at the main plant in Cologne from the third/fourth quarter of 2023

The new Ford affords hardly any extravagances, at the front instead of a continuous strip of lights the letters 'Explorer' are barely recognizable on a black background. Below, appropriately large, the Ford logo. The Ford is also
smooth on the sides with a relatively high parapet.
The rear doors are followed by a glass pane with chasing and at the rear again the same play with the black strip and the logo as at the front. Contrary to other solutions, the Explorer has a wiper for the rear window. There
will probably be an optional trailer hitch later, but for the time being the rear is restrained.
Inside, existing experience at Ford was used and interesting solutions were created. Rotating center displays have already been seen, but probably none like this one with 15 inches and adjustable in inclination. There is
even supposed to be a kind of secret compartment behind it. The display behind the steering wheel is quite small.
Apart from the fact that this is slightly flattened at the top and bottom, it has no special features. The fact that a touchscreen is not even supposed to be available is even applauded a bit by us. Key combinations have been
adopted from VW, but the sliders have already been provided with haptic feedback. The film partially shows how the 17 liters of storage space in the center console can be used, unbelievable capacity and variability.
