 2018 50 Years Dacia
The company celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2018. Two remarks on the situation: We drove through Romania shortly after 2000, against the strict advice of our Polish friends. This only to describe the Romanian
reputation in the East at that time. Do not worry, we have remained without complications. No highway, but a country road partly beautiful along the Danube.
Almost in Bulgaria, the people pour grain on the street and we are a instructed via hand signs to drive through quickly. So obviously we helped with the threshing of grain on a part of the European route. It may explain
the local poverty (or is it cleverness) better than the many slow teams, which of course cost a lot of time.
Then the automotive environment of Romania: There is the GDR with the Trabant. In Poland, they have just begun with the license of a Fiat 125, but under the slightly rusting sheet metal outdated Fiat 1300/1500
technique. The AwtoWAS factory in Tolyatti builds the Shiguli, better known to us as Lada, an externally similar to the Fiat 124 car with different and partly
less modern technology, too.
Only Czechoslovakia owns Škoda, a traditional brand with good engine technology, albeit unaffordable for normal Romanian people. What could have been better for the country than to be able to start the brand Dacia
with Renault's help, and thus start producing a small car and with it the production of a somewhat established small car in the West? The pride about the opportunity so used you still notice today.

The Dacia 1100 is a Renault 8, but has at least four doors and no emaciated technology under the hood. It is even a kind of embarrassment solution, because actually the R12, which jumps right into the automotive
future, should be made from 1968 on. As later Break version this Dacia has asides front-wheel drive even a tailgate and a fold-out cargo volume.
After taking over the Estafette in 1974, 1983 the 1304 as pick-up was available:
The image series describes a little the way to a product that had probably been developed by Renault as a 5,000 euros car for emerging markets. Since the fall of the wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union, Dacia
has had greater competition from the West since 1990 and slipped under the umbrella of the Renault Group in 1999 (51%). It modernizes the plant thoroughly.
Out of the Logan vehicles are developed, which persist in the price war from then on and still do not want to shy away from the comparison in quality. In 2005, the one millionth, 2018 the five millionth vehicle is
delivered. There are now nine other Dacias manufacturing sites worldwide, including the AwtoWAS plant in Tolyatti, even though the products do not always trade as Dacias. 08/18
