Of course, the two letters are borrowed from the goddess of 1955. Of course, the term underlying the abbreviation is different,
however partly changing from 'Distinctive Series' to meanwhile 'Different Spirit'. Both should emphasize the distinction from the ordinary. Although treated as an independent brand in the HPA Group since 2014, the
connection to Citroen stops only slowly.
The first model with the new name is the DS 3 from 2010 as a nobler edition of the C3. The platform is always the same for all three brands, only design and equipment are the significant differences. So the DS 3 will
also stronger compared with the Mini, to which it is also similiar by demanded higher prices.
Of course, the model range will further expanded, currently with the facelift of the DS 4/5 (pictured above) and the concept of a corresponding SUV (video below). It's not so easy to establish a new car brand for high
demands. After initial success the brand weakens slightly in China also at the moment, despite special series, but what the Group altogether more than compensates by gains also in Europe.
So, the sale will remain reserved glamourous stores. It will be interesting, whether it is possible to establish
in France again something like a luxury class. The Citroen brand label is already omitted at the meantime revised models 3 to 5. Concepts were even shown up to number 9 (video above).
It's to be hoped that one remembers the treasures of the local fashion creation and associated craftsmanship (images above) in France, making available for the design of the new brand and supersedes a little too
much chrome and piano lacquer. Also quite unusual materials are then asked. Also interesting is the pattern on matte varnish in the pictures above. 10/15
