No, it cannot be compared with the Peugeot 208 or the Opel Corsa-e, although it is based on the same platform including battery size and engine power. It is simply 30 cm longer and 10 cm higher. A coupé-like limousine just needs space. Long live the silhouette. But it doesn't look bad on it either.


Nowadays, this design can also score points with a big flap, if it is not called 'Model' 3. Of course the backrests are foldable. Without it, the size of the luggage compartment is just about as large as that of the somewhat shorter VW Golf. When the flap is opened, it also takes the upper part of the rear lights with it, which does not seem to match the lower part anyway (picture below).


At the front, the usual system with the main headlamp under e.g. daytime running light has been slightly optimised, LED as standard, also for the cars with combustion engines. The latter has now moved very high up, leaving hardly any space for the small one, but thus providing more optimal street lighting. One can assume a higher weight than, for example, the 208. Nevertheless, with 350 km (WLTP), we are told that the range is 10 km longer.


Lane Keeping Assist is described as 'active', which of course applies to Front Collision Warning and Emergency Brake Assist anyway. The Highway Driver Assist system is linked to the active cruise control with Stop&Go function and allows semi-autonomous driving at level 2'. An independent lane change is not yet planned.


Generally speaking, the vehicles with combustion engines are also quite well equipped as standard with digital display, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, 10-inch touch screen, DAB radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 3 years Connect and the safety package. In the ë-C4, even the heat pump is series.

It is not clear whether the power of the ë-C4 is peak or continuous.

The differences are also interesting, but not the luggage compartment. However, the ë-C4 is even more than 200 kg heavier than the already heavy C4 with diesel engine. The two combustion engines have the same power output, surprisingly slightly less than the electric motor, but the torque is lower respectively higher. However, the torque of the e-motor is already available at much lower speed.
