2020 Audi S3




Such top models used to have a stand-alone status. That is history for a long time. The S3 is under pressure, e.g. from every A3 with the S Line equipment. Yes, this is possible even with the weakest engines with a good third of the performance, but it requires more than the € 2,500 in the price list.


Then you have to work through the almost 130 pages to the beginning of the technical data and usually add an amount every time the S Line appears on the right. But rest assured, your trusted car dealer will be happy to help.


Why are we telling you this? Because you won't be spared this work even if you buy an S3. We were able to add almost € 35,000 as additional possible equipment for a vehicle that is at least the top model in the compact segment.


Only for the S3 the nappa leather seats are reserved, but for an extra charge of € 1,300. You have to take a closer look to identify a real S3, e.g. at the four tailpipes. It is easier to recognize the completeness of the equipment from the outside, namely by the number of LEDs in the headlight.


Technically, of course, four tailpipes with four cylinders make little sense. Or do you think they were pulled to the back one by one? Also that the lower opening is continuous on the right in the direction of travel, but the left is not. On the other hand, the larger honeycomb pattern compared to the A3 is nice.


The group brother Golf R is a little more expensive in the basic price. With its optional drift mode, it documents whereto the journey could go. That is alien to the S3. With an acceptable spread in the damper control, which can be ordered as an option, you can elicit at it a little more comfort during the journey, although it is 15 cm lower than the A3.
