 2018 Audi Q8
Design with many beads and contrasts, not particularly streamlined. |
After the BMW X6 and the Mercedes GLE Coupé Audi has to follow and apologizes at the same time that there are other (more important) markets that demand even more for such a car. Can one resent a
manufacturer, if it places next to an oversized car a second one and thus calculates greater opportunities in the market?

Strange the people who wonder how much space they have on the rear seat in a car of 5 m in length and 1.7 m in height. And that at 2 m width three people there have quite good
space next to each other. At just 6.6 inches shorter in length, the Q8 loses 150 to more than 200 liters of luggage space compared to the Q7.
The height above the rear seat is actually only slightly influenced by the Coupé thought. It rather exists in an oblique C-pillar, whose slender shape is also supported by dividing the material. Add to that the frameless
side windows, so far extremely rare in an SUV. Both conditions require each other, because the bridges to the third side window are hardly noticed.
As you would expect, the new Q top model is the reason for a new design line. Of course, six corners normal or eight in the Q models do not sound as good as hexa- or octogonal, in spite of the lower corners are
rounded off in the latter. More exciting is the interior with less than last emphasis on the vertical, but quite large fields that absorb the sensor almost invisible, but no longer cover visually sufficient.
HD matrix LED light and up to 39 assistants possible. |
Unusually almost the recurring beading landscape. Gentle covering of the broad shoulders was probably not an issue. Look at the horizontal surfaces to the front fenders, almost in contrast to the relatively weaker
contoured hood. Great the new headlamp design with high beam below, acting like air intakes during not used.
The black outfit when switched off also affects the three displays inside, in contrast to competitors quite
harmoniously integrated. Even turntables are partly designed as small displays. As a question, the possibly missing feedback remains. 06/18
