 2017 Audi A7
Rim sizes up to 23 inches are apparently in preparation. |
Nearly 5 meters in length with almost 3 meters of wheelbase and only slightly more than 1.4 meters in height. If you can equip such proportions with wheels of up to 21 inches, an exciting design is almost
automatically created. The bonnet has been emphasized a bit by length, but perhaps even more by its contouring. There are straight surfaces, which are however bent and broken to their edges. This is also found in
the dashboard. 'Horizontal under tension' you could call it, which then splits the huge hood optically into a cover for the engine and right and left for the wheels. It runs the mudguards off the rank. The tension also
increases in the rear because there is no dull surface between the wheel and the glasshouse.
At the front you only perceive the supposedly and presumably partially covered radiator grille, regardless of whether it is called 'Single Frame'. There is only hood, grill and spoiler from top to bottom, no nesting. It is just
a coupé, even if a four-door. This is the disadvantage of the SUVs, who have to deal with this huge face, not only aerodynamically, but also from design. A really convincing solution is still waiting. Maybe it does not
exist. A
high seat belongs just to the forest edge and not to the road.
For the rear one can still hope for the next generation. A lot was to be integrated here, the long rear window for an as far as possible view to the rear, the obvious necessary, extendible spoiler, as if there were not
already underfloor solutions, and the downwardly pulled tailgate for sufficient opening for the luggage and a low loading height. And a continuous light surface alone does not make a highlight.
Even with the headlights, perhaps less would be more. One does not necessarily have to interpret the normally pale blue rods in the light, just perceive them and, above all, do not combine them with 'Coming Home'
gimmicks. But they can be deactivated and only the simple daytime running lights leaves the viewer free for the considerable rest of the car. 10/17
